Request Peer Support

You do not have to face kidney disease alone.

The Marshall Kidney Peer Support Program is designed to connect kidney patients, dialysis patients, transplant recipients, living donors, caregivers, and family members with someone who understands that many have the emotional and practical challenges that can come with kidney disease.

Who Can Request Support?

You may request peer support if you are:

  • Newly diagnosed with kidney disease
  • Preparing for dialysis
  • Currently receiving dialysis
  • Considering or waiting for a kidney transplant
  • Living with a kidney transplant
  • Considering living kidney donation
  • A living kidney donor
  • Caring for someone with kidney disease
  • A family member seeking encouragement or general support

What Kind of Support Is Available?

A peer mentor may:

  • Listen to your concerns
  • Share personal experiences
  • Offer encouragement
  • Discuss common emotional and lifestyle challenges
  • Help you feel less isolated
  • Encourage you to communicate with your healthcare team
  • Share general information about navigating the kidney journey

Peer mentors do not provide medical advice, diagnose medical conditions, recommend treatments, interpret test results, or replace licensed healthcare professionals.
